Britne Oldford (American Horror Story, Ravenswood) has been cast as the female lead in Hunters, Syfy’s 13-episode, straight-to-series alien drama from The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, which is slated to premiere in 2016. She is expected to star opposite Nathan Phillips, who has been in negotiations for the male lead.

Written by Natalie Chaidez (Heroes) based on Whitley Strieber’s best-selling novel Alien Hunter, the series chronicles the disappearance of a decorated Philadelphia cop’s (Phillips) wife, which leads him to a secret government unit assembled to hunt a group of ruthless terrorists — shadowy figures that may or may not be from this world. Gersh-repped Oldford will play Regan, a talented and valuable government operative.

Hurd and Chaidez executive produce for Universal Cable Prods and Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment. The series is set to film in Melbourne, Australia.
