Stephen Colbert Announces Donald Trump Skewering Campaign
Stephen Colbert celebrated Donald Trump’s decision to end decades of torturing late night comics and actually run for POTUS, launching his own campaign, Shut Up Dummy.
“Donald Trump’s campaign for president of the United States is not just great for America. It’s great for late night television,” Colbert said in his first campaign appearance. “Because Donald’s presidential campaign has inspired me, Stephen Colbert, to announce that I will still be hosting the Late Show on CBS.”
“Donald Trump is running for president and he’s going to make late night television great again,” said Colbert, himself a former presidential candidate.
“I love Donald, you know, he looked great on television. I was really surprised. He came out and I thought, he looks like he fell into a river and they raked his body out of the surf down in Cape May three weeks from now. But the important thing is the crabs hadn’t gotten to his eyes yet. And that sends a message of confidence to voters that if you vote for him, he’s not physically dead.”
