Clint Eastwood’s Jenner Joke Cut From Spike’s Guys Choice Awards

Those of you who had set your DVRs for this week’s Guys Choice Awards won’t be getting the whole story. Spike Spike Logo 2015TV said today that is has cut from the broadcast an inappropriate joke Clint Eastwood made about Caitlyn Jenner during the weekend ceremony that is set to air on Thursday. The 85-year-old filmmaker was introducing San Andreas star Dwayne Johnson and commented on the pro wrestler-turned-action hero’s transition from athlete to actor. According to Hollywood Life, the multiple Oscar winner compared Johnson’s career change to those of “Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody.”

Although Spike bills the show as “everything that a typical award show is not – a hilarious, unpretentious, heartfelt event where comedy is king,” the cable net confirmed today that the gag-worthy gag won’t make the final telecast. Earlier this spring, Comedy Central confirmed that it edited jokes about the late Paul Walker from its Justin Bieber roast — a panel that included Ludacris, a friend and Fast & Furious co-star of Walker’s.
