Caitlyn Jenner Hot Topic On Jon Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel Late Night Shows

Late night TV did its part last night toward Caitlyn Jenner’s superbly orchestrated walk-up to the debut of her new E! reality series, Call Me Cait.

Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart noted the media wasted no time treating Caitlyn like a woman, showing clips of female reporters talking about being jealous of her looks, and one of TMZ’s bits of male on-air talent raving about her “sexy boobs,” while others mulled whether Caitlyn is now hotter than former wife Kris Jenner.

“Caitlyn, when you were a man, we could talk about your athleticism, your business acumen, but now you’re a woman and your looks are really the only thing we care about,” Stewart snarked. “Which brings us to Phase 2 of your transition: Comparative Fuckability,” he continued.

“So, Caitlyn Jenner, congratulations. Welcome to being a woman in America.”

Later, ABC latenight host Jimmy Kimmel noted it has been especially hard to keep track of Caitlyn Jenner’s transition for the ABC promo department, because the same people who put together promos for Diane Sawyer’s exclusive interview with Jenner (in which then-Bruce Jenner announced he was transitioning), also make the promos for ABC’s reality series The Bachelorette.

In maybe the biggest walk-up ever to a reality-series launch, Vanity Fair late last week blasted out to media the cover of its June issue featuring E! reality series star Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce Jenner, on the cover, in an ivory satin teddy.

Jenner also launched her new Twitter account that day and, within four hours, had 1 million followers, breaking the record set by President Barack Obama when he launched his personal Twitter account May 18 and hit the 1 million mark in just under five hours. Another benchmark Jenner has yet to hit: stepdaughter Kim has 32.2 million Twitter followers.

Within hours of the Vanity Fair cover release, ABC had announced Jenner will be honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 ESPYs, airing on ABC, live on July 15.  And that date is less than a week before Jenner’s E! reality series is scheduled to premiere.
