Jenny Daly’s T Group Prods has signed an overall co-production deal with veteran producer and ex-Disney-ABC exec Ann Lewis Roberts, and her new outfit Roberts Media.
Under the pact, Roberts will create, develop and produce unscripted programming with a focus on formats and talent driven projects to be co-produced with T Group in the U.S., Canada and UK. Roberts and her Roberts Media team will relocate to T Group’s Santa Monica office, and work closely with T Group President Daly and Rob Lobl, EVP of Development and Current Programming. Daly and Roberts will serve as executive producers on all series. The two have a long history, having worked together at E!
“Jenny and I grew up together in unscripted TV at E! at a groundbreaking time for the network,” said Roberts. “As an entrepreneur, Jenny quickly built an impressive and innovative company and we’ve made it a point to do business together through the years. As I grow this venture, I’m thrilled to join forces with her and the enthusiastic team at T Group.”
“Ann has a proven track record for building franchise properties,” said Jenny Daly. ”She has a keen eye for creative, strong relationships with top talent as well as experience as a packager, producer and both network and studio executive. We are excited to bring her expertise to T Group as she launches her new company.”
Before launching Roberts Media, Roberts served as head of Disney-ABC’s unscripted studio and SVP of daytime & syndication programming. There, she developed and launched The Chew and was credited with revitalizing series such as The View and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Before joining ABC, Roberts served as VP of development and programming and executive producer for E! and Style where she produced over two dozen series, including Clean House, Dr. 90210, How Do I Look? and Whose Wedding Is It Anyway.
The news comes on the heels of T Group’s co-production partnerships with Jack Osbourne’s Osbourne Media, Canadian producers Matthew Kershaw and Jay Kovitz’s Interior Day Entertainment as well as British producers Natalka Znak and Simon Jones and their company Znak&Jones.
