Travis Reid Named President Of Distribution At Broad Green Pictures

Travis Reid, a well-known veteran of the theatrical exhibition industry and the former CEO of Screenvision, has been named President of Theatrical Distribution at Broad Green Pictures. He will oversee the theatrical distribution of the company’s current specialty, and forthcoming wide release slates, including theatrical sales, exhibitor relations, and in-theater marketing.

Broad Green Pictures plans to distribute a minimum of six films annually in wide release beginning in 2016, in addition to its current specialty slate. Reid’s hiring will help prepare the company for a dual strategy that will have the studio slated with 12-16 films annually (including specialty fare). They will develop material in-house as well as launch co-productions and make a number of acquisitions.

Reid most recently served as CEO of cinema advertising company Screenvision, which he joined in 2010. At Broad Green, will report to CEO Gabriel Hammond and Chief Creative Officer Daniel Hammond. Reid will continue to serve on the board of directors of Screenvision.

Prior to Screenvision, Reid was the CEO of Digital Cinema Implementation Partners, where he oversaw the execution of required studio agreements, the arrangement of $660 million in financing and the initial stages of DCIP’s 15,000-screen conversion to digital cinema.

Over his 30-year career, Reid worked 15 years with Loews Cineplex Entertainment, where he served as CEO from 2002 through its successful merger with AMC in 2006. He remained on the board of AMC until joining Screenvision. In addition, past professional and community affiliations include serving as a trustee of Cineplex Galaxy Income Fund and as a member of the board of directors of Fandango, the Will Rogers Memorial Fund and the Motion Picture Pioneers, where he served as President.
