Sony Pictures Classics Acquires Holocaust Drama ‘Son Of Saul’ For North America

As had been widely expected, Sony Pictures Classics has acquired well-received Holocaust drama Son of Saul for North America. The harrowing drama, directed by Laszlo Nemes, looks at Jewish prisoners at Auschwitz forced to carry out the Nazis dirty work in the concentration camp.

Films Distribution is selling the film, which had the rare accolade of being selected for competition even though it was from a debut director.

SPC earlier in the fest also picked up Hirokazu Koreeda’s competition pic Our Little Sister.
