Armie Hammer Sits For ‘Final Portrait’ Opposite Geoffrey Rush – Cannes

EXCLUSIVE: Armie Hammer is joining Stanley Tucci’s Final Portrait opposite Geoffrey Rush. The film follows the relationship between legendary Swiss painter Alberto Giacometti (Rush) and American art critic James Lord (Hammer), who decides to sit for a portrait by his friend. He is unprepared, however, for the painter’s demanding intensity, and the experience tests their relationship to the core.

The script is based on Lord’s own work A Giacometti Portrait. Gail Egan of Potboiler Productions (Our Kind Of Traitor) is producing along with Ilan Girard, Fred Hogg and Olive Productions.

Hammer is represented by WME and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern. Next up for the actor is Guy Ritchie’s spy caper The Man From U.N.C.L.E. opposite Henry Cavill and Danish supernova Alicia Vikander as well as a role in the feature version of HBO’s Entourage and Brit director Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire.

Hanway Films is selling international rights with CAA repping domestic.
