Nothing says season finale like a wedding, a reunion, a bomb and a helicopter. Hawaii Five-O had all that and more last night. Wrapping up its fifth cycle and with no official word on if it’s coming back, the 50th state cop show went large with a double shot – and it was on target, kind of. In its regular slot of 9 PM, Five-O drew a 1.1/4 and at 10 PM, in Blue Bloods’, usual time period, it got a 1.0/4. The former was a slip of 8% from last week while the latter was down 17%. Compared to the Blue Bloods Season 5 finale on May 1, the 10 PM Five-O sank 23%.

Finale-to-finale, last night’s Five-O was also down 8% from its Season 4 finale of May 9, 2014. Easily the most watched show of the night on the most watched network of the night (7.32 million for CBS), the 9 PM portion of the Five-O S5 finale got 8.37 million viewers. That’s virtually the same as the series had last week with a mere 2% dip. However, compared to last year’s S4 finale viewership, last night’s 9 PM airing was down 9%. Leading off the night for CBS, The Amazing Race (1.0/5) took a misstep of 9% itself off its May 1 show.

It was a step up for Grimm (1.0/4) last night as the NBC show rose 11% from last week’s series low to now reach a 4-week high among adults 18-49. Head to head with the Five-O final, Dateline (1.1/4) also had a reasonably good night with a 10% uptick from its May 1 airing

beyond the tank may 8 2After debuting with some bite last week, Beyond The Tank (1.4/5) got a little chomped itself last night. Some doggy treats were in the spotlight as Barbara Corcoran checked in on a young go-getter who seemed to be going off the entrepreneurial track on the Shark Tank spinoff. Coming off a Shark Tank (1.5/7) that itself dipped 6% from last week, BTT leaked 12% in the demo. That’s not really bad at all as Week 2 declines usually go, especially when you factor in that BTT was adjusted up a tenth from the early ratings – something that maybe could happen here. With an overall 1.4/5 rating, ABC’s 5th straight demo winning Friday was capped off by 10 PM’s 20/20 (1.2/4), which was up 20% in the demo and won its time slot.

Continuing its post-Glee tactic of playing movies on Friday nights, Fox showed 1996’s Scream (0.4/2) last night. The mocking fright flick was down 42% from what the airing of Taken got last Friday.

On The CW, Whose Line Is It Anyway? (0.5/2) at 8 PM was up a very serious 66% from what it got at 8:30 PM last week and up a very very very serious 150% from what Cedric’s Barber Battle garnered. The short lived and now cancelled The Messengers (0.2/1) was even with last week.
