Nantucket Film Fest Will Open 20th Anni Run With Literary ‘The End of The Tour’

The 20th edition of the Nantucket Film Festival will show A24’s The End Of The Tour with Jason Segel as the late David Foster Wallace, also starring Jesse Eisenberg, on opening night, June 24th. For the sixth year in a row, NFF will screen a Disney•Pixar film on opening day. This year the studio brings to the festival Inside Out, about a young girl and the five emotions competing for control in her head.

What Happened, Miss Simone?, Liz Garbus’ documentary portrait of the “high priestess of soul” Nina Simone, will be the centerpiece film, showing prior to its premiere on Netflix. Magnolia Pictures’ Best Of Enemies closes this year’s edition. The documentary focuses on the televised debates between William F. Buckley, Jr. and Gore Vidal during the 1968 presidential national conventions.

“This year’s 20th anniversary is a celebration of what the Nantucket Film Festival has accomplished over the past two decades as well as what we will be doing twenty years from now,” said Mystelle Brabbée, Executive Director. “We look forward to showcasing the works of those who have made a distinct impact on cinema as well as the works of breakthrough talents.”

The festival runs from June 24-29th. See for information.
