Alchemy Acquires Bernard Rose’s ‘Frankenstein’; Miles Heizer Gets On Lionsgate’s ‘Nerve – Film Roundup

Alchemy has stitched together a deal for U.S. rights to writer-director Bernard Rose’s Frankenstein, following the pic’s world premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. The horror film won the fest’s top prize, the Golden Raven Award. Produced by Summerstorm Entertainment, the modern adaptation of the classic thriller stars Xavier Samuel, Carrie-Ann Moss, Tony Todd and Danny Huston. The deal was negotiated by Jay Cohen at Gersh on behalf of the filmmakers and Alchemy VP Acquisitions Steve Break.

Miles HeizerMiles Heizer (Parenthood) has joined Lionsgate’s Nerve, opposite Emma Roberts and Dave Franco. He will play Tommy, the longtime confidant and friend of Vee (Roberts) who gets enmeshed in an increasingly dangerous online game of dare. Production is underway in NYC for directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. Allison Shearmur is producing. Heizer just wrapped the sixth and final season of NBC’s Parenthood. Heizer appears in The Stanford Prison Experiment, which premiered at Sundance, and other recent credits include the features Rudderless and Memoria. He is repped by Innovative Artists and Management 360.
