IFC Films Picks Up North American Rights To ‘Queen Of Earth’

The AMC Networks operation will handle the film about two best friends who drifted apart. It features Mad Men‘s Elisabeth Moss and was written and directed by Alex Ross Perry.

Sundance Selects/IFC Films President Jonathan Sehring says that Perry “has created a fascinating and unnerving psychological portrait, which elicits a career-best performance from Moss, and cements Perry’s status as a filmmaker to watch.”

The writer/director returned the compliment, saying that IFC Films “has proven peerless in their support of serious and challenging cinema. Joining their roster is humbling, and I am excited to see Queen Of Earth alongside many iconic films and heroic filmmakers.”

His film had its world premiere at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival. Moss helped to produce Queen, joined by Adam Piotrowicz and Joe Swanberg.  Christos Konstantakopoulos and Forager Film Company were executive producers.

In addition to Moss, the movie features Katherine Waterston, Patrick Fugit, Kate Lyn Sheil, Kentucker Audley and Keith Poulson.

Sundance Selects/IFC Films SVP of Acquisitions and Productions Arianna Bocco and Manager of Acquisitions Sean Berney negotiated the deal with the filmmakers.
