‘Devious Maids’ Trims Regular Cast For Season 3

Lifetime’s soapy mystery Devious Maids will feature fewer full-rime cast members this coming season. I have learned that Edy Ganem and Drew Van Acker will no longer be regulars on the show but will both return for multiple episodes. Meanwhile, Mark Deklin, who joined as a new regular in Season 2, will not be coming back.

Ganem’s Valentina and Van Acker’s Remi were among the guests at Rosie’s wedding interrupted by a bloody shooting that ended Season 2 in a cliffhanger. Per Lifetime’s promotional materials, Season 3 will kick off with the couple “struggling to connect in the aftermath of the shooting.” Deklin played Nicholas, a charming but mysterious millionaire.

Valentina has been one of the central characters on Devious Maids which follows a close-knit group of maids, Marisol (Ana Ortiz), Rosie (Dania Ramírez), Carmen (Roselyn Sánchez), Valentina (Ganem) and Zoila (Judy Reyes), bonded together by their jobs, life struggles and the melodramatic universe that engulfs their employers.

Season 3 also will be the first without creator Marc Cherry at the helm day-to-day, with Ric Swartzlander and Brian Tanen as new showrunners. Cherry is still involved in the series, leading the creative.
