Flu Pandemic Event Series In Works At Fox With Nina Jacobson Producing

Fox has put in development Aftermath, a limited event series from The Hunger Games producer Nina Jacobson and feature writing duo Ryan Belenzon and Jeffrey Gelber.

BELENZON_RYAN_AND_GELBER_JEFFREYWritten/executive produced by Belenzon and Gelber, Aftermath is set in the wake of a worldwide flu pandemic. Former CDC virologist Nathan Taggat is forced to investigate the strange pathogenic suicide of a John Doe, who might hold the key to stopping a high-level government conspiracy. Jacobson is executive producing through Color Force, her production company with Brad Simpson. 20th Century Fox TV is the studio.

Jacobson, who has a first-look feature deal at Fox 2000, already is in business with 20th TV on American Crime Story, the upcoming spinoff from hit FX anthology series American Horror Story.

Belenzon and Gelber, repped by CAA, Grandview and Ryan Nord, most recently optioned their spec script The Rocket to Black Bear Studios. They also are re-writing Adventurers Club (formely known as Livingstone) for Fox Searchlight and 21 Laps Entertainment.
