Andy Serkis’ The Imaginarium Studios Pacts With Red Arrow In New TV Venture

Under a new joint initiative, Andy Serkis’ The Imaginarium Studios and Red Arrow Entertainment Group are launching a unit to develop high-end scripted drama for the international market. The partners are currently recruiting a senior level executive to manage the new venture’s development slate with product being handled for distribution by Red Arrow International.

Founded by Serkis and producer Jonathan Cavendish in 2011, UK-based The Imaginarium is a performance capture studio as well as a producer of film, television and videogames. It’s currently making Sky’s four-part family TV series Fungus The Bogeyman and has optioned feature rights to Samantha Shannon’s novel The Bone Season, and a new take on George Orwell’s Animal Farm, which Serkis is directing.

The Imaginarium recently provided performance capture services for Star Wars: The Force Awakens (that’s Serkis’ voice in the first trailer), and Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Age Of Ultron. The Imaginarium team is also providing performance capture services on Serkis’ directorial debut, The Jungle Book: Origins at Warner Bros and starring Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Naomie Harris and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Red Arrow is active in scripted and non-scripted programming across such series as Bosch, Lilyhammer, Married At First Sight and The Taste.
