Disney might have Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar, but pretty much it owes everything to a certain octogenarian rodent. Now Mickey Mouse is set star in Mickey And The Roadster Racers, an animated/live-action series due to premiere on Disney Junior in 2017. Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald and Daisy will be joining him on the show, which will take the Sensational Six and their uniquely personalized vehicles on humorous high-spirited races around the globe plus hometown capers in Hot Dog Hills. Geared toward ages 2-7, the stories are designed to impart social and emotional lessons about friendship, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
“Preschoolers around the world have enjoyed Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for almost a decade,” said Nancy Kanter, EVP Original Programming and GM at Disney Junior Worldwide, “and we are eager to showcase these classic Disney characters once again in a new series centered around their lives in Hot Dog Hills and surprising racing adventures that take the gang to a variety of iconic locales around the world.”
The series from Disney Television Animation will feature the team behind Disney Junior’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Rob LaDuca is executive producer, Mark Seidenberg is co-executive producer and supervising story editor and Thomas Hart is story editor.
