‘House Of Cards’ Renewed By Netflix For Fourth Season: Underwood In 2016!

Looks like there will be two presidential elections next year – one in real life with potentially the likes of Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush and another on the streaming service with incumbent Frank Underwood and whoever dares to get in his way. Having launched the third season of House Of Cards on February 27, Netflix said today that the award-winning drama starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright will be back for a fourth season in 2016.

No debut date was given for the much expected next cycle of House Of Cards, but if this last season was any indication, the Netflix Logostreaming service’s flagship drama will land right in the middle of political drama onscreen and off. With that in mind, production on the next season of the series is set to start this summer in and around Baltimore, where past cycles have been filmed. A fave of President Barack Obama and other dignitaries, HoC premiered on Netflix back on February 1, 2013.

Based on the 1990s British series and starring Michael Kelly and Molly Parker among others, HoC is EP’d by David Fincher, Beau Willimon, Joshua Donen, Eric Roth, Spacey, Dana Brunetti, Andrew Davies and Michael Dobbs. Donen/Fincher/Roth and Trigger Street Productions produces the series in association with Media Rights Capital.
