Screenwriter Annie Neal To Rewrite ‘Agatha’ For Paramount Pictures

annie nealEXCLUSIVE: Screenwriter Annie Neal is rewriting Agatha at Paramount.  The project originated as a spec screenplay by Allison Schroeder which the studio purchased in March 2013.  Disruption Entertainment’s Mary Parent and Cale Boyter are still producing the project along with BenderSpink’s Chris Bender, Jake Weiner and JC Spink.

The spec script for Agatha is described as an action adventure in the spirit of Sherlock Holmes meets Romancing the Stone.  The story follows what happened to Agatha Christie when she went missing for 11 days. Directors are currently circling the project.

Neal scripted Beauty Queen which was a selection on the 2013 Black List.  She is also adapting Jenny Han’s Simon & Schuster book To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before for Overbrook Entertainment about a teenage girl’s love letters that are accidentally sent out, creating a stir in her love life.

Neal is repped by BenderSpink, CAA and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.
