Bob Philpott Dies; Veteran Business Manager Was 66

Bob Philpott, a longtime Hollywood business manager whose clients included Jerry Bruckheimer, Brian Grazer and Dick Wolf, died yesterday in Los Angeles of complications Bob-Phillpot 1from a recent stroke. He was 66. Steve Bills, his longtime colleague at Philpott Bills Stoll & Meeks, where Philpott was managing partner, confirmed his passing to Deadline.

After a two-year stint in the Marines, Philpott started his business management career in 1978 at LA’s Traubner & Flynn, where he worked with the firm’s affluent and high-profile clients. He left in 1984 and opened his own practice in the San Fernando Valley, steadily building his clients base with entertainment celebrities and executives. He eventually expanded by taking on partners Bills, Peter Stoll and Martin Meeks. Based in Encino, PBSM now has more than 50 employees who handle the wealth, career and life management affairs of 150-plus industry clients.
