‘2 Broke Girls’ Renewed By CBS Alongside ‘Mom’ And ‘Mike & Molly’

After word leaked yesterday that CBS has renewed Chuck Lorre comedies Mom for a third season and Mike & Molly for a sixth, the network this morning is confirming the pickups, along with a fifth season order for 2 Broke Girls.

With The Big Bang Theory one year into a three-season pickup, CBS has locked in its established comedy series for next season. All four hail from Warner Bros. TV. Of CBS’ freshman sitcoms, The Odd Couple is looking promising early on, following a Week 3 ratings uptick, while The McCarthys is unlikely to continue.

Mom has thrived in its move from Monday to Thursday this season. It is up +42% in viewers (11.89m) and +16% in adults 18-49 (2.9/09) vs. Season 1. Veteran Mike & Molly ranks first in its Monday 8:30-9 PM time slot in viewers (10.35m) and second in adults 18-49 (2.5). 2 Broke Girls kicks off CBS’s Monday lineup at 8 PM, averaging 9.58 million viewers, up +3% over How I Met Your Mother and its own year ago performance in the time period.
