BBC Vet Phillippa Giles To Head Bandit Television For Endemol Shine UK

The newly-formed Endemol Shine UK is launching a new scripted label, adding to its heft in the British drama sector. Bandit Television will be run by veteran Phillippa Giles who joins from BBC Drama. She has been named Managing Director. Giles’ credits include Idris Elba series Luther and procedural Silent Witness.

Bandit will create and produce original dramas for the UK market, which will be distributed globally by Endemol Shine International. This is the second new label to be created under the merged Endemol Shine Group. It joins Artists Studio (The Fall), Brown Eyed Boy (Vicious), Fifty Fathoms (Fortitude), Kudos (Broadchurch), Lovely Day (Grantchester) and Tiger Aspect (Peaky Blinders), as well as the recently launched Cave Bear Productions. The latter was formed in February by Ben Cavey and sits under the umbrella of Tiger Aspect and Endemol Shine UK.
