E! has a start date — Friday April 3 — and a new name — The Grace Helbig Show — for its hybrid comedy talk show helmed by YouTuber Helbig (you can see her Youtube show above). The half-hour series will follow The Soup at 10:30 PM. Helbig’s Webby award-winning Its Grace has more than 2 million subscribers on YouTube. She is also the creator of the IAWTV and Streamy award-winning web series DailyGrace, as well as the podcast Not Too Deep With Grace Helbig. Recently, Helbig starred in and executive produced Camp Takota, which was picked up by Netflix in November.
Her new series is billed as a “hybrid talk show” featuring Helbig giving her take on what’s trending in pop culture, along with interviews with celebrity guests. Which explains why, in announcing the series pickup in January, Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming & Development, E! Entertainment said of the show, “As we continue to seek out programming that offers a rich multiplatform experience, we are excited to launch this forward-thinking talk show that speaks so perfectly to our audience and to the core of E!’s pop culture brand.”
It’s being produced by Embassy Row — whose credits include Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Crackle’s Jerry Seinfeld vehicle Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, AMC’s The Talking Dead, and Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen. Michael Davies, Amanda McPhillips, Helbig, and Ken Treusch are exec producing.
