Don Hany Joins NBC Pilot ‘Heart Matters’; Callie Thorne In TNT’s ‘Breed’

Don Hany (Serangoon Road) has landed a male lead in NBC’s drama pilot Heart Matters. Inspired by the life of Dr. Kathy Magliato, the medical soap follows the outspoken Alex Panttiere (Melissa George), one of the rare female heart-transplant surgeons. Alex brings an innovative eye to treating patients week to week while also balancing the complications of her professional and romantic life. Hany, repped by Gersh, Shanahan Management, and Hansen Jacobson Teller, will play Dr. Jessie Shane, the hospital’s new Chief of Surgery. Alex (George) and Jessie (Hany) had a a passionate, unforgettable affair when she was an intern, and now ten years later, they are working together.

Callie Thorne (Rescue Me) has rounded out the cast of TNT’s drama pilot Breed from writer/novelist John Scott Shepherd, director Scott Winant (Fargo) and producer Nicky Weinstock. Breed tells the wild and chilling story of a series of brutal murders in the Pacific Northwest and the mysterious race of creatures who may be committing them. Thorne, repped by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment, will play Emme Haladjian, the beautiful, charismatic, highly-accomplished prosecutor whose appearance hides her vicious secrets, and the danger she poses to Cooper and the city.
