Parkes + MacDonald, Black Bear Land ‘Undone;’ Legal Thriller First Sale For Ex-Litigator Melissa London Hilfers

EXCLUSIVE: In a mid-six figure deal made in a competitive auction, Parkes+MacDonald and Black Bear Pictures have partnered to acquire and produce Undone, a spec script by first time writer Melissa London Hilfers, who was a litigator at the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore. Parkes+MacDonald (through their Image Nation partners) & Black Bear have an option to finance or co-finance the picture. The script has a Gone Girl meets Primal Fear vibe to it. A popular podcast brings a strange, decades-old murder case into the spotlight and leads to a re-investigating of the thirty-five year old murder case,  One of the nations top litigators fights to free the man the entire country believes was wrongly convicted, until she begins to suspect her own past might be the key to the murder itself. They expect the script to be catnip for actresses.

Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Evan Hayes will produce for Parkes+MacDonald. Teddy Schwarzman will produce for Black Bear, with Ben Stillman serving as an exec producer. Leigh Kittay brought in the material for P+M. Paradign reps the writer along with manager Alan Gasmer and Stone Meyer Genow Binder.
