‘Saturday Night Live’ Ratings Inch Up With Chris Hemsworth, Boxing Returns To Network TV

They weren’t exactly super human, but Chris Hemsworth delivered some strong ratings for Saturday Night Live. Last night’s show on NBC, hosted by the Thor star with musical guest Zac Brown Band averaged a 4.0 household rating in the metered markets and a 2.0 among adults 18-49 in the markets with Local People Meters. That was up from last week’s show hosted by Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Dakota Johnson, which pulled in a 3.8 HH rating and a 1.9 in the demo.

Earlier on the night, professional boxing made a return to network primetime after a 30-year absence with the debut of Premier Boxing Champions on NBC. It did a 1.0 in 18-49 from 8:30 – 11 PM in the not-time zone adjusted fast affiliate ratings. That was relatively on par with the average Saturday college football ratings in the fall though the bench mark for processional sports is usually higher. Premier Boxing Champions won the night for NBC.
