Fox Buys ‘Foxcatcher’ Co-Writer Dan Futterman Spec ‘A Shot In The Eye’; Matt Reeves Producing

EXCLUSIVE: Boy, is it a good time to be out there selling material with A-list elements. 20th Century Fox has closed a deal on A Shot In The Eye, a spec script by Dan Futterman. He is the actor-writer who scripted Capote and with E. Max Frye scripted Foxcatcher — and was Oscar nominated for both.

The spec is a science fiction action movie in a dystopian setting, but they’re keeping the exact logline under wraps. The film will be produced by Matt Reeves, under his Sixth and Idaho banner. He is not attached as director at this time. Reeves just directed Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes for the studio, and Adam Kassan and Rafi Crohn from his company are overseeing. Kassan is exec producing.

Futterman is repped by UTA, Principal Entertainment and Frankfurt Kurnit; Reeves is repped by CAA, 3 Arts and Jackoway Tyerman.
