WME And Cinetic Sign Sundance ‘Take Me To The River’ Helmer Matt Sobel

EXCLUSIVE: WME has signed Matt Sobel, writer/director/producer of Take Me To The River, which debuted at Sundance. This marks the third signing the agency made of filmmakers who made a splash at Park City; WME also signed The Hallow helmer Corin Hardy and Seoul Searching‘s Benson Lee. Cinetic Media will also rep Sobel, and is repping the distribution rights to his pic.

take-me-to-the-riverSobel’s coming-of-age drama follows a California teen who travels to a family reunion in Nebraska where a series of events places him in the middle of a dark family secret. It’s Sobel’s feature debut. Sobel’s thinking big for his next project: it’s a China-set science fiction film about twin Olympic high divers and the evolution of man.
