‘A Most Violent Year’ Helmer J.C. Chandor Signs With CAA
EXCLUSIVE: Writer-director J.C. Chandor just signed with CAA. The filmmaker moved after he exited the film Deepwater Horizon at Summit over creative differences. He had been repped by WME, and had a pretty admirable run there.
Chandor had a long career directing commercials, but his ascension has been fast since making his debut on Margin Call, which got him an Oscar nom for Best Original Screenplay and a host of other accolades that included the Best First Feature and the Robert Altman Award at the Indie Spirits. He followed with the Robert Redford-starrer All Is Lost, which premiered at Cannes and most recently directed A Most Violent Year, which was named National Board of Review’s Best Picture and got a Best Screenplay nomination at the Independent Spirits.
He hasn’t declared his next film but has several projects percolating including one on Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi for Legendary Pictures.
