Lynwen Brennan Upped To Lucasfilm GM

Lynwen Brennan has been promoted to general manager of Lucasfilm, where she will oversee all operational matters for the company and its divisions, Industrial Light + Magic and Skywalker Sound. She’s been ILM’s president and GM since 2009 in an era of steady expansion, opening offices in Vancouver and London, and expanding its studios in Singapore and San Francisco.

In her new post she will report to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and to Walt Disney Studios president Alan Bergman. Lucasfilm is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Disney. A 16-year veteran of the company, she will focus primarily on the development and execution of Lucasfilm business strategy and implementation of the company’s vision as it ramps up production of content for television, film, theme parks, and interactive games. Brennen will continue to work with ILM chief creative officer John Knoll and maintain oversight of many aspects of ILM’s business.

Prior to joining Lucasfilm, she had 10 years of experience in visual effects software development at companies such as Parallax Software, Avid Technology and Alias Wavefront.
