ICM Partners Signs Shameik Moore, Star Of Sundance Breakout ‘Dope’

EXCLUSIVE: ICM Partners has signed Shameik Moore, the 19-year-old star of the Sundance Film Festival pic Dope, which sold to Open Road and Sony Pictures in one of the fest’s biggest deals: $7 million in minimum guarantee with a $15 million P&A. Moore was on the radar of pretty much every agency after the pic premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition last month.

Open Road has already set a June 12 release date for the coming-of-age story written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa. It centers on an L.A. high school trio: Three geeks whose obsession with punk rock and 1990s hip-hop culture make them easy pickings for the jocks and gangbangers in their tough neighborhood. A chance invite to an underground party leaves Malcolm (Moore) with a stash of Ecstasy that will either destroy the Ivy League college aspirations of the friends or lead them to be re-identified, finally, as being dope.

Shameik is additionally repped by The Osbrink Agency, Artistic Endeavors and attorney Scott Whitehead.
