Paul Scheer Boards ‘Fresh Off The Boat’, Megalyn Echikunwoke Lands ‘The Following’

Paul Scheer has landed a recurring role on ABC’s new comedy series Fresh Off The Boat as Mitch, the high-energy, friendly guy who is hired by Mr. Huang to be the host at the steakhouse restaurant.  Mitch is a tad shady, full of questionable advice for the Huang boys, and very much distrusted by Mrs. Huang. Scheer appeared in last night’s first two episodes and can be seen throughout the series as his character has a notable story arc. As reported last week by Deadline, Scheer is co-starring in the Will Ferrell-Mark Wahlberg comedy Daddy’s Home and the Topher Grace feature musical One Shot.  Scheer is repped by UTA and Principato Young Entertainment.

Megalyn Echikunwoke has booked a recurring guest star role on Fox/WBTV’s The Followingin which she plays Penny, a beautiful, troubled, drug user who is Theo’s (Michael Ealy) sister and the one person whom he confides in and knows his secrets. Echikunwoke was a series regular on ABC’s Mind Games last season and she starred opposite Don Cheadle in Showtime’s House of Lies as well as Bruce Willis in the action film A Good Day To Die Hard. She is repped by UTA, A Management and attorney Neil Meyer.
