Jenna Elfman To Star In Dana Klein Fox Comedy Pilot

Jenna Elfman is set as the lead of Fox’s untitled Dana Klein comedy pilot, from 20th Century Fox TV. Written by Klein and directed by Pam Fryman, it is told from the point of view of Ellen (Elfman), a working mom who is in constant competition with her perfect, stay-at-home sister-in-law. Ellen constantly second-guesses herself and, by extension, her husband. She worries she’s a bad mom/wife/daughter-in-law and often takes on more than she can handle in an effort to prove otherwise.

Klein is executive producing the pilot with Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment. This marks Kaplan’s second pilot with Elfman — he also cast her as the lead of ABC comedy Bad Mother. (This also is Kaplan’s third consecutive pilot with Klein, following Daddy’s Girls and Friends With Better Lives, which went to series at CBS.)

Dharma & Greg alumna Elfman, repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment, most recently starred opposite J.K. Simmons in the short-lived NBC comedy Growing Up Fisher last season.
