Entertainment Film Distributors In Talks To Board Feature Adaptation Of Hit Brit TV Comedy ‘Bad Education’

EXCLUSIVE– Entertainment Film Distributors is in early talks to board the feature adaptation of hit Brit TV comedy series Bad Education, Deadline understands.

The project, which has not yet been greenlit, is being produced by Ben Cavey, with Elliot Hegarty (The Middle) directing and Freddy Syborn and Jack Whitehall writing. Whitehall is also set to reprise his role as the role of Alfie, arguably the worst teacher to ever grace the British education system.

The series, which produced by Endemol-owned Tiger Aspect Pictures, was a popular show for BBC 3 and broke the record for the highest-rated first episode of a comedy on the channel when it debuted in 2013.

Entertainment will no doubt be hoping to recreate the success the company enjoyed with the similar small to big screen adaptation of The Inbetweeners.  The first feature instalment was a box office phenomenon in the UK, where it grossed over $70 million in 2011. The 2014 sequel grossed over $55 million in the UK alone.
