Harold hatched the multi-part King Arthur film series that will star Charlie Hunnam, and this becomes the latest writer-centric creative company to fly its banner at a studio. The company also announced that Matt Schwartz has joined Harold and Tunnell as Vice President. He previously was VP Film and Television at the Weed Road/Safehouse collaborative.
Sony Presidents Hannah Minghella and Michael De Luca are glad to have them: “We are thrilled that Joby and Tory are making their home at Columbia Pictures. Their ability to create, write and produce original movies makes them a dynamic addition to our studio. They have great taste, commercial instincts and are wonderful people.”
Said Harold and Tunnell: “We are so grateful for our years and continued relationship working with Akiva and Warner Bros, both of whom have been so supportive of this new chapter for Safehouse. Sony is a phenomenal creative partner, and we are truly honored to be given this new opportunity to work with Hannah, Mike and everyone
on the Sony team.”
The first of six Camelot pics at Warner Bros hatched by Harold is called Knights Of The Roundtable: King Arthur. Guy Ritchie is directing Hunnam, Astrid Berger Frisby, Jude Law and Djimon Hounsou. Weed Road and Safehouse are producing with Ritchie’s producing partner Lionel Wigram. Harold is set to write the next installment. Harold previously wrote the Tom Cruise starrer Edge Of Tomorrow and Awake, which he directed. Safehouse also is producing Space Invaders, the Zac Efron starrer The Falling and the Sony Pictures Television/WGN America original series Underground. CAA and attorney Carlos Goodman rep the company.
