‘The Boy Next Door’ Review: Pete Hammond On The “Paint-By-Numbers” Thriller

Jennifer Lopez stars in The Boy Next Door as a teacher estranged from her husband who falls into a hot affair with a neighbor teen before it all goes bad.

As I say in my video review above, the film opened strongly this weekend, and Lopez gives a solid-enough performance, but that’s not my problem with the movie. It’s basically the 100th re-run of Fatal Attraction, though the genders have been flipped in about the only surprise here. You may have seen something like this before.

The film is directed by Rob Cohen and written by Barbara Curry. John Corbett, Kristin Chenoweth and Ryan Guzman also star.

Watch my review. Have you seen the movie or are you planning to do so? Let us know what you think.
