Matt Tolmach Productions Taps David Manpearl As EVP Production

Sinister Six and The Amazing Spider-Man producer Matt Tolmach has hired David Manpearl to serve as EVP Production for his Matt Tolmach Productions banner. Tolmach, the former Sony Pictures co-president of production who departed that post in 2010 to segue into a first-look producing deal on the Culver lot, brings Manpearl in to identify new projects and oversee development and production on film and TV titles including Jumanji, written by Chris McKenna; The Bringing; The Rosie Project with LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller; Dodge And Twist; and Royal Wedding with Roger Michell.

Tolmach and Manpearl go way back to when Tolmach was a Sony exec and Manpearl was his assistant. Manpearl went on to work on the Charlie’s Angels franchise and The O.C. at McG’s Wonderland, served as SVP at Mandeville working on hits including The Muppets and Warm Bodies and exec producing 21 & Over. He most recently held the post of SVP Production at New Regency working on the March Vince Vaughn comedy Unfinished Business.

“Apparently you can go home again,” Tolmach said in a statement. “David has brilliant taste and works tirelessly. I’m lucky to have him back.”
