Hope Davis Weighs In On End Of ‘The Newsroom’ During ‘Allegiance’ Session – TCA

The TCA panel was about NBC’s new spy drama Allegiance, but at the end of the session came a question to actress Hope Davis about another show in which she played a role: HBO’s often controversial The Newsroom. The Aaron Sorkin drama recently ended its run.

Davis responded slowly and carefully. ‘It’s over. It’ s off the air,” she said. “It was a strange show to work on. I’m fan of Jeff’s (star Jeff Daniels) and of Aaron Sorkin’s. I’m not sure exactly why he pulled the plug. It’s kind of mysterious. There are 26 episodes that people can watch and that’s it.”

The Newsroom ended with an abbreviated third season, announced last January.
