IATSE Sound Local 695 Coming Out Of Trusteeship

IATSE Sound Local 695, whose members include Oscar winners and nominees in the field of sound mixing, is coming out of trusteeship just in time for the Oscars. The local’s newly elected officers will be sworn in on Saturday. The local was placed into trusteeship last February after Jim Osburn, the local’s longtime business agent, butted heads for the last time with IATSE International President Matt Loeb.

Many of the local’s leaders before the trusteeship — except for Osburn — have been voted back into office. Those include Mark Ulano the local’s president who won an Oscar for Titanic, and Susan Moore-Chong, the treasurer and Emmy winner for Tour Of Duty.

Scott Bernard, who served as interim business agent during the trusteeship, ran unopposed and will serve as the local’s new business agent and top official.
