Arturo Del Puerto Joins ABC Family Comedy Pilot ‘Tough Cookie’; Matt Murray In ‘Kevin From Work’

ABC Family is adding cast to two new comedy pilots, Tough Cookie and Kevin From Work. Arturo del Puerto has landed a series regular role in Tough Cookie, from Awkward creator Lauren Iungerich and David Janollari. It’s centered around a young mother who isn’t ready to parent and her daughter who doesn’t want to be parented. It takes a village to raise a child or rather, a child to raise a village. Del Puerto, repped by Main Title Entertainment and AKA, will play Mickey, one of Lilla’s roommates, a neurotic hipster and something of a neat freak. Del Puerto recently recurred on NBC’s Chicago P.D. Lifetime’s The Lottery and FX’s The Bridge.

Canadian actor Matt Murray has joined the cast of workplace comedy pilot Kevin From Work, as a regular. It’s about  Kevin (Noah Reid), an adorable but lonely young man unlucky in love who professes his love to his beautiful and quirky co-worker Audrey (Paige Spara), thinking he’ll never see her again after he accepts a job offer overseas. But then that job offer is rescinded and now they have to continue to work with each other. Murray, repped by Intellectual Artists Management and The Characters Talent Agency in Toronto, will play Brian, Kevin’s (Reid) best friend and confidant who is also a bit of a prankster; he’s always giving Kevin the not smartest advice. Murray recently wrapped an arc on ABC’s Rookie Blue.
