‘Man Seeking Woman’ Review: Dominic Patten On FXX’s “Delightful” Comedy

If you’re looking for a good laugh and something very out of the ordinary, then I suggest checking out Man Seeking Woman when it debuts on FXX on Wednesday night. As I say in my video review above, this Jay Baruchel-starring show about a good-hearted but unlucky-in-love twenty-something nebbish named Josh is a delightful addition to the comedy calendar – and it has a great Hitler gag that can’t be missed.

Created by Simon Rich and based on his book The Last Girlfriend On Earth, the new series has some pretty sturdy comedy hands helping on the production side. Along with Rich, Portlandia‘s Jonathan Krisel is executive producing along with Andrew Singer and SNL kingpin Lorne Michaels. Broadway Video will produce for FX Prods.

FXX ordered 10 episodes of the half-hour show in July. The often surreal look at the pitfalls of the modern, digitally dominated dating scene premieres at 10:30 PM right after the Season 10 launch of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Will you be seeking out Man Seeking Woman? If so, check out my review. Tell us what you think of the show.
