Eric McCormack & Debra Messing To Reunite On ‘Mysteries Of Laura’
Nine years after the end of Emmy-winning NBC comedy Will & Grace, title stars Eric McCormack and Debra Messing will reunite onscreen in an episode of Messing’s new NBC series, light cop drama The Mysteries Of Laura. On the show, based on a Spanish format, Messing plays brilliant but fashion-challenged detective Laura Diamond, who navigates working with her ex-husband as her new boss and taking care of her often misbehaving twin boys.
In a role that should showcase McCormack and Messing’s onscreen chemistry, McCormack will guest-star as Dr. Andrew Devlin, a roguish, arrogant-as-can-be heart surgeon and Laura’s (Messing) one-time fiancé. When his ex-wife is murdered, Devlin becomes the lead suspect in the homicide investigation led by a highly suspicious Laura. To say the least, sparks fly.
Save for an arc on CBS sitcom The New Adventures Of Old Christine, produced by Mysteries Of Laura studio Warner Bros TV, McCormack largely has stayed on the hourlong side since the end of Will & Grace. He recently toplined the TNT crime procedural Perception.
