‘Warrior’ Magical Drama Gets NBC Pilot Order

We have the first traditional pilot order of this pilot season. NBC has given the green light to Warrior, written/executive produced by Traveler creator David DiGilio and exec produced by Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. The project, from Universal TV, is set in a grounded, contemporary multicultural and sometimes magical milieu where a damaged heroine works undercover with physical and spiritual guidance from a mysterious martial arts master to bring down an international crime lord. The premise makes Warrior, which was a late sale at the tail end of pitch season, a contender for NBC’s Friday genre block anchored by Grimm.

DiGilio, repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment and attorney Karl Austen, reunited with NBC, Parkes, MacDonald and Uni TV for Warrior after working as co-executive producer on their pirate drama Crossbones.

Heading into the official pilot season that starts at the beginning of January, we only have one pilot — a backdoor one — ordered at the broadcast networks, CBS’ Criminal Minds spinoff.
