Evan Peters Joins ‘Elvis And Nixon’ Pic

EXCLUSIVE: Evan Peters, who plays Quicksilver in Fox’s X-Men franchise and stood out on the first installment of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story, has landed a role in the indie Elvis And Nixon. The historical drama was set up in November at the American Film Market with Kevin Spacey set to play President Nixon opposite Michael Shannon as Elvis Presley.

Peters will play Dwight Chapin, the White House aide who helped organize the meeting between the two men, after Elvis showed up on the White House lawn one early December morning asking to meet directly to the President.

Liza Johnson is directing the pic, which Cassian Elwes is producing with Holly Wiersma. Bloom, which launched the film’s latest incarnation at AFM,  is handing international sales.

Peters’ other film credits include Kick-Ass, and he is next up in Relativity’s The Lazarus Effect, which is being released in February. He also is set in X-Men: Apocalypse, which is slated for summer 2016.
