‘Big Eyes’ Review: Pete Hammond On Tim Burton’s Latest ‘Weird, Weird’ Tale

Director Tim Burton’s latest movie, Big Eyes, is about Walter and Margaret Keane, a story so crazy that it has to be true, and it is. As I say in my video review above, it features terrific turns by Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams, who both have been nominated for Golden Globes (Lana Del Rey’s “Big Eyes” also was nominated for Best Original Song). Adams, by the way, has been in the middle of a kerfuffle over a cancelled TV appearance, which she talks about, among much else, here on Deadline.

The movie also stars Krysten Ritter, Jason Schwartzman, Terence Stamp and Danny Huston. The script by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski has been nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. Producers include Burton, Alexander and Karaszewski, along with Lynette Howell. The Weinstein Company is distributing in the United States.

Are you going to see it? Let us know.
