Marvel Confirms Mike Colter As Luke Cage In ‘Jessica Jones’ Netflix Series

Marvel today officially confirmed Deadline’s scoop that The Good Wife‘s Mike Colter will play Luke Cage opposite Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones in A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Marvel’s second 13-episode series to debut on Netflix in 2015, following Daredevil.

Colter will introduce Luke Cage as the male lead in A.K.A. Jessica Jones before the character headlines the third in Marvel’s four-series package for Netflix, which also includes a miniseries conclusion.

“Mike embodies the strength, edge and depth of Luke Cage,” said A.K.A. Jessica Jones executive producer/showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. Added Marvel’s head of TV Jeph Loeb, “Viewers will get to meet Luke Cage in Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones and experience why he is such an important superhero in the Marvel mythos.”

Colter, repped by Gersh and Silver Lining Entertainment, was seen in American Horror Story: Coven and stars as Jameson Locke on the XBox web series Halo: Nightfall.
