Finding Jessica Chastain And ‘Eleanor Rigby’ – The Contenders

Ned Benson talks in the video clip above about his “first fan,” who happened to be Jessica Chastain, who loved a short he created so much that she joined his first feature-length movie, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigbyall before she became, you  know, JESSICA CHASTAIN.

Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby Ned BensonThe movie arrived this summer, part of an audacious trilogy of movies cut from the same material from first-timer Benson, telling the story of a couple from each of their perspectives and also from both of them.

Benson talks about star Chastain, who rushed to meet him after the screening of one of his storts and went on to some broader notoriety. The film also stars James McAvoy, Bill Hader and Viola Davis.

The movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year before being released in September to U.S. audiences by The Weinstein Company, in the United States. The film has grossed more than $985,000 so far.
