EXCLUSIVE: Kate Hudson and Kerry Washington are set to join British director Amma Asante’s Unforgettable for Warner Bros. Warner-based Denise Dinovi is producing with partner Alison Greenspan. Christina Hodson is writing the script, which centers on a man whose new wife is menaced by his ex-wife.

Her debut A Way Of Life, a gritty tale set in Wales, for which she also wrote the script, won her BAFTA’s Carl Foreman Award for best debut by a British filmmaker. Sophomore feature Belle, inspired by the true story of mixed-race girl Dido Belle in 18th century Britain starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, also won strong critical notices and was released to much success by Fox in the U.S. and UK.

The high-profile casting of Washington and Hudson in the double female lead picture speaks volumes to Asante’s pulling power and ability to elicit quality performances from her cast.

Washington continues to star in ABC’s top-rated drama Scandal as political consultant Olivia Pope. Hudson recently wrapped Barry Levinson’s Rock The Kasbah opposite Bill Murray, Zooey Deschanel and Bruce Willis. Both Washington and Hudson are repped by CAA. Asante is repped by Natasha Galloway at United Artists in the UK and CAA in the U.S.
