EXCLUSIVE: McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision has just picked up the Brian Duffield spec script The Babysitter in an auction. McG and Mary Viola will produce the unique horror/coming of age story. Duffield will Executive Produce along with Wonderland’s Director of Development Steven Bello, who brought the project in to the company. Wonderland’s COO James McGough brokered the deal along with David Boyle.
Duffield wrote Jane Got A Gun, the troubled Western that got made by Gavin O’Connor with Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor and Noah Emmerich starring, and Relativity releasing. Duffield also scripted Insurgent, the second installment of Summit Entertainment’s Divergent series, and the horror-romance Vivien Hasn’t Been Herself Lately. Latter will mark Duffield’s directorial debut. After becoming a monied company, Wonderland made Chris Evans’ Before We Go, and The Babysitter will be part of its 2015 slate. They are in post on the CBS Films’ The Duff, which Lionsgate releases next year. Duffield is represented by Gersh, Circle of Confusion, and Behr Abramson Levy; McG and Wonderland are represented by WME, Management 360, and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern.
