Michael Che To Bill Cosby – “Pull YOUR Pants Up:” ‘SNL’

Last night’s Cameron Diaz-hosted edition of Saturday Night Live scored points off the ever-expanding tribulations of Bill Cosby in a Weekend Update blast from co-anchor Michael Che.

“Hey Bill Cosby, pull your damn pants up,” Che opened, before admitting, “I’ve always wanted to say that.”

It was a pointed reference to Cosby’s frequent lecturing of African-American men on their responsibilities as husbands and fathers — a harrumphing posture that’s taken it on the chin following allegations by what seems like a continually growing parade of women who charge that over the years Cosby repeatedly drugged and sexually assaulted each of them.

Che said he felt most challenged when TV Land pulled reruns of The Cosby Show off the air, following similar moves this week by NBC and Netflix on newer projects: “I don’t know how to feel about that, because I don’t know Bill Cosby, but Cliff Huxtable practically raised me…and the only thing he tried to sneak when people were asleep was a hoagie.”

Concluded Che, “So while I may never forgive Bill Cosby, I hope maybe someday I can forgive Dr Huxtable. I mean, I know it’s not the same thing, but I forgave Kramer.”

Here’s the clip:

Given all the emotion around the Cosby allegations, what did you think about Che’s commentary?
