‘Sunday Night Football’ Ratings Even, ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Up In ‘Mulaney’ Slot, ‘Once Upon A Time’ Steady

Lopsided games are almost becoming a primetime tradition this NFL season and it was no different last night. Another Sunday Night Football (6.2/16) and another blowout. Week 11 saw Tom Brady, Jonas Gray and the New England Patriots thrash the Indianapolis Colts 42-20 in the latter’s own home stadium. However, unlike the Colts, NBC and the NFL will be pleased with the results. Fast nationals to fast nationals, the primetime game was even among adults 18-49 with last week’s Green Bay Packers’ 55-14 win over the Chicago Bears. As is common with live sports like SNF, expect an adjustment in those numbers. Last week’s SNF rose to a 6.5/18 in final numbers.

In terms of metered market results, last night’s Patriots vs. Colts game got a 13/6/21. That’s a nice and solid 22% rise over the season low of last week’s 11.1/18. Overall, NBC won the night with a 5.6/14 rating in the demo and 16.36 million viewers.

The limping and now rescheduled Mulaney was off the board for a week due to NFL overruns on Fox. Now yes, Fox’s numbers will likely see some adjustment later, but there was some off the field action to behold on the network last night –at least in fast nationals. While the 8 PM The Simpsons (2.9/8) was steady with last week’s Futurama crossover, lead-out Brooklyn Nine Nine (2.2/5) celebrated Thanksgiving early. The holiday themed version of the comedy scored a 16% jump in the demo from last week after being basically steady for the two weeks before. Lead-out Family Guy (2.2/5) also saw some demo love with a 22% rise from last week as well as the same percentage upward movement in viewership with 4.4 million watching. All of which gifted Bob’s Burgers (1.7/4) a 13% lift in its new time slot from its last original at 7:30 PM on November 2. Perhaps more importantly for Fox, Bob’s Burgers was up nearly 89% from what Mulaney delivered among the demo in the 9:30 PM slot last week – and that was a better than usual week for the freshman comedy.

With no football, ABC went for the sweep magic. Unfortunately, a special 2-hour Once Upon A Time (2.4/6) didn’t deliver much sparkle. The fairy tale drama was basically steady with its 1-hour November 9 self with a 4% among the demo. Usual lead-out Resurrection is also off the air for next week with American Music Awards airing. Still if OUAT didn’t see much movement, Revenge (1.5/4) certainly did. The late night soap jumped up 15% on Sunday from the week before to hit a season high in preliminary ratings. Starting the night at 7 PM, America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.5/4) was even with last week. Overall, ABC had its best Sunday since the September 28 of premiere week.

CBS, as has been common this season, pushed back its primetime due to NF overruns. This week it was 16 minutes in East Coast and Central markets like NYC, DC and Kansas City. All of which once again pretty much renders fast nationals for the network’s offering of 60 Minutes (1.7/5), Madam Secretary (1.5/4), The Good Wife (1.3/3) and CSI (1.3/4) just a scramble of numbers until the time zone adjusted results come in. Respectively, 60 Minutes and CSI were up 13% and down 8% among the 18-49 demo. Madam Secretary and Good Wife were up and down 7% each from their November 9 results.
